Connectivity

Yup it is working again.........Man, I didn't sleep a wink last night missing out on my nightly Trackmania fix................and now that I am at work it is working............bah humbug.

anyone else still having problems loading certain sites? eg. Facebook
 
we can access some international sites like wiki and a few others, it was workn fine for about 15min after midnight then it went dead, I hope it ain't the virus rpm was speaking of in an earlier thread..
 
Yay it's working a bit better.

I was so bored I actually considered doing some cleaning.

TY internets for saving me from such a horrible fate.
 
My Son Can get FaceBook and Google .
I cant Get My Gmail and some international sites.
He has XP Im on Vista,
Same Telkom Con...
 
This is really wierd i bought a 30 gig local IS acount from webafrica this morning, the speeds are super and i can browse international sites like facebook etc i double checked my router and it is setup to use my local acount on webafrica can someone explain to me whats hapening ? Not that i am complaining :)

for some reason webafrica's 30gig local have international cap for the first couple of days. But if you download things then that luxury goes away. like mine went an hour ago.

Ugh... it r frustrating. My IS account is doing half-speed to news servers, local fine, I can get to international sites no problem, it's doing downloads is when one finds out about the half speed throughput. Also anything google-based is buggered. Using opendns settings on my router. Every site with some google thing on it goes through a hiccup. :P

The IS account at work was flippin' fantastic today though.

Why would a Telkom failure cause IS to hit slow international speeds?

Or is this slow pace just from all of you switching over to IS accounts today? :D GerroffMeLan! :D
 
Perhaps this IS slowness one might be seeing is related to routers at IS? If I RDP over VPN to the office PC and do a traceroute to google I get this:

It's repeatable. Note hops 6-8. :P Hops 3 and 4 are different, but seem irrelevant.

So why dont they state that on their website myworld ? i can see a difrence in speed compared to my axxess acount webafrica is allot faster for me. Anyhows this is super i mean for R130 i think it is worth every cent :D
