OK, so your IP address is blacklisted.

Inform your isp that the IP address you are currently assigned to is blacklisted and the blacklisting needs to be removed.
Usually this request falls on deaf ears so the only other alternative is to disconnect you 3G deviice from the internet for a few hours and hope that when you reconnect that you get assigned a new IP address that is not blacklisted.

I have seen this type of blacklisting many times, espcially on the Vodacom network,

The domain name of your email address is that portion after the @ in your email address.

for example joe@twinkles.co.za the domain name would be "twinkles.co.za"

now that you have determined your domain name you can check if it is blacklisted with the link I posted.

OK I will do as suggested.

I got a bit confused with domain names etc (blame Telkom and others for keeping this lady in a state of constant stress the past few days) and IP addresses. I don't use Vodamail, but merely use the 3G as a connecting device so the check on my actual ISP was enough as far as that is concerned.

I am going offline now so I can do as you suggested. Thank you for your help. I will shout if the problem persists

No problem, PM me if you want further help. I will be happy to connect via TeamViewer to provide remote support if you so desire.
