considering downgrading from 8mb to 1mb

I don't download that much, I am struggling to use the 16GB allocated to me and figured 1mb with 8GB would suit me fine for around R200 less per month. Trying to save for an overseas holiday so trying to cut down where possible.

I will keep it for another month and see... It is difficult to go back after experiencing close to 1MB per second throughput

No, but when we were stress testing the new 600Mbps Seacom/SANReN connection at University of Stellenbosch, we maxed out our hard drive's (old drives) max write speeds

Good luck with the downgrading. I downgraded (in March) from 4Mbps with 2x 30GB IS capped to 1Mbps with MWeb uncapped and I'm very pleased with it so far.

Instead of worrying about bandwidth why dont you spend your "width" on your GF.
or is that a bridge you crossed too many times before.
