Earth. Welcome!
I was with WebAfrica (WA) previously, but when uncapped properly came along I switched to MWeb. The prices are now tempting me to go back, but I'm wondering how their (WAs) performance is vs MWeb?

How're people finding WAs uncapped? Has anyone else switched from MWeb and how does that compare?

I had mweb but moved to WA due to the price. No issues. Hoping the switch to IS doesn't change anything.

Get a test account and then decide: http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl-trial/

It's capped but they say it has the same profiles as their uncapped: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/502668-Webafrica-switching-to-IS/page6

Oooo. Thanks, will give that a go and see how it is.

MWEB is the best. You pay for what you get.

MWeb is great and I've got great service from them so far. However, I've also received great service from WA in the past, and paying R200 more for the same or very similar product is no longer funny.

4Mbit pricing is good. Let's see what happens with IS.

You can definitely give our trial accounts a go via http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl-trial/ and it is on our Silver bandwidth priority which the same as uncapped (http://support.webafrica.co.za/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/669/0/bandwidth-priority-profiles).

Also the trial accounts will be on our new IS network so post some feedback on how its performs :)

has anyone tried these accounts that are on the IS network already?

I would not do anything for a month or two until you can get a proper answer to this question. WA always promises lots - give it some time to see if it is true first. As the move will only be complete month end, sure anyone can really say what they will be like at this stage.

As Postmanpat said, you do get what you pay for

Would WA be inclined to look at 6/8 mbs packages for uncapped?

Some people have faster than 4 megs but less than 10 meg lines.

Mweb > WA.
Mweb has wonky customer service now and then but fine for the most part. Web Africa... let's just say that from both a business perspective and a consumer perspective, bad service.

do let us know how things progress as there are others in the same boat :)

I am loving my account at Openweb though, cannot complain at all.

good to know ... but the last time they worked out more expensive ,,, but still got a few more months with mweb ... so will see how things play out :)

They've got some nice specials on atm. R209 for a 2mb std uncapped (few months ago I ran out of downloads at 290GB but my speed never let me down).

Not 100% sure at this stage around the 6Mbps and 8Mbps Uncapped accounts.
I'll drop our Product guys a mail and get some more info around this though :)

I'm scared to move from MWeb. I have had hardly any trouble from their side during the time I have had uncapped. They must just improve their prices now because I don't want that throttled nonsense.
