Console Vs PC Gaming

he did what? did he zip up the winzip setup file?

its not a option anymore, you need a computer, weather for gaming or not, you cannot live on a console anymore, no consoel offers the same as a pc

I don't think the OP meant you have to choose between the two, only choose between the two from a gaming perspective. We all know a PC can do 99999999 of different things.

You can upgrade the hardware, download a patch\drivers. With a console you cannot.

Well on console you don't upgrade, because you don't have to, the games are specifically made and optimized for the hardware. We still download game patches (they don't exceed 5mb in size I think), although games aren't broken on arrival like some recent PC releases so patches mostly fix something you probably haven't noticed. We also get console firmware/dashboard updates from time to time.

It wouldn't be a console if you could upgrade it's key hardware, this would mean that more game testing have to be done for different types of hardware, you'd be stuck with PC issues without the benefits of a PC.

Oh and FPS and strategy games were meant to played on PC.
3rd person shooters/driving games etc were made for console

Funny how you say "meant" yet many FPS game atm are designed around console, then ported to PC (almost all of the recent CoD and BF games). I actually have no problem with FPS with a gamepad, it's actually relaxing, love squeezing the trigger for a shot and using the analog sticks, feels less generic than move mouse and click = boom headshot, yeah the benefits of a mouse in FPS is undeniable in games such as Unreal Tournament and Quake. I def agree with RTS though.

Lol,if you bought SC2 then there is allot of patches waiting for you,a new patch comes out like every month :D.

well out of what gamer is better when that marvel MMORPG comes out on multi platform maybe we will see if the consoles can keep up with us ( not saying i will play it but would like to see if there will be a skill gap there due to limitations on a controller )

Consoles have less hassles....then again...I'm getting older...

agreed.

I grew up with a pc and did not even bother with playstation 1 or 2, but since I bought my xbox, I have hardly used my pc for any gaming. It is just so much easier/convenient to just put the game into the console and start playing.

I decided to buy a console after I bought a few games designed for console and then I played the ****ty ported pc version. I remember playing the pc version of DMC and when trying to do something I have to press triangle or circle on the remote.

PC gaming will always have better more complete control but this round of the war is being won by console's going by sales figures.
