I've been getting SMS's from MTN for a week now up to 8 or 9 times per day, informing me that I have used up 50% of my data bundle. It's quite annoying to have to check your phone every few hours because of a high priority SMS notification, only to find out it's useless repeated spam.

Is there a way to unsubscribe from their notification service since I check my usage every night via USD or the App?

Use Afrihost mobile, much better.

Same thing happened to me last month. It went away this month after the old data bundle that triggered it or something expired. I think

It was really annoying.

Same here, I cried every time I got an SMS. There was this one day where I got more than 45 of them :crying:

Another annoying thing was that pop up to buy additional data. Oh MTN, what have I done to deserve this hell you've put me through.

Over the past few days I received 27 messages about an expired data bundle. Then they even cut me off, although I had still bundles totalling 400 MB left. I had to buy yet another bundle just to get my data working again.

Since I moved from MTN to Vodacom I get ZERO spam. At least you get that right Vodacom. And in my experience with Vodacom everything else too. Not the view that many hold here.

But I must be in the minority.

Until a company ****s ME over I cannot say anything bad about them.
And why would I?

Like I say maybe I'm lucky. Stay strong Vodacom. Don't forget me and my Nokia1 and my prepaid airtime that doesn't dissapear and trying to catch you out stealing. So far not one cent stolen. I'm watching you Vodacom....
