I think 010 is a new code for Johannesburg, or VOIP. I know we had to add that range to our PABX last year to allow it to dial those numbers.

Ok ... it was FNB. They contacted me again now. And yes Showed up as a JHB number on my cell. First time I have seen that...

I got a number of calls the other day from +26657394977, +26662440040 and +26659618887.

Don't even know where that is !

010 is Midrand, I have seen numbers from there in the 100-200 range for the first three digits.

The calls i get just drop the second i answer, as some others have said in this thread... The second i pick up, it's just a dead line

I suspect it is call centres. I received calls and then it is quite on the otherside (if I don't know the number, I wait for someone else to speak). Then after 10 sec (exactly), it cuts out. So, one day I decided to shout in it and, surprise, call centre, selling cellphone contracts.

I know this is an old thread, but this started happening to me last week. Also Vodacom.

Any solutions? I've added private numbers to my phone's "block" list as a stop-gap measure.

Recap: Calls come in, you answer, then after 5 sec or so the call cuts. If you speak it seems to cut the call immediately.

Robocaller, it calls you and checks for a response, then forwards the lead to a call center if successful.
