Constantly slow ADSL line speed

My line speed since yesterday has dropped down to a constant speed of 7 kilobytes per second from yesterday. (I usually get 40 kilobytes per second on my 384K line).
Telkom ADSL speed test confirms my slow line speed.
This problem affects both local + int.
ISP is a SAIX ISP.

I have had ADSL for a year and never experienced a problem like this. Anyone got any ideas?

It's like Telkom has introduced a 56K ADSL offering and put me on it. :(

Located in Capetown? Major problems in capetown, so dont worry, as soon as its sorted you will be back on track.
 
yeah me too, Raslouw Centurion and im only downloading at 4kb, other night only 1kb ! im on IS, wtf is going on ?
 
All I know is that it isn't IS problem. This must be exchange related or something. Perhaps the weather has something to do with it. Either way, I am on Telkom Internet and it is damn slow... Don't blame IS.

It,s been like that for a few days now.
Did a speed test this morning and got 128kbits/s upload and 44kbits/s download.
I'm in Centurion and my ISP is Telkom
 
I knowtice that i lag during the days on adsl.. but its fine from about 5 pm onwards... :( :confused: :(

Yes it is sometimes slower during the day -- but not as slow as 56k dialup.

I hope its fixed -- will try again this evening. Maybe it was Friday's big storm that messed something up in Centurion.

Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

* Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
* Estimated line speed: 50.9 (kilobits/second)
* Estimated line speed: 6.2 (kiloBytes/second)
 
This problem must have something to do with the 1 Nov Telkom changes.

Anyway I am getting the problem again but this time I am not complaining because I should already have been hardcapped. :)
