So this is an embarassing topic to bring up and I await a plethora of "you're full of #$%#" jokes, but this is something I struggle with fairly frequently.

I have tried several solutions (most doctors prescribing morvicol) or some similar substance that draws water into the bowels. While this works it has several unpleasant side effects such as bloating, runny stool etc.

I bombarded myself with a mixture of laxette and epsom salts this weekend (Havent passed anything substantial in two weeks) and all I got was a ton of gas and some insubstantial passings.

Last night I decided to drink a few beers and low and behold a perfect morning.

This is not the first time alcohol has saved me in this way - yet a search on google displays nothing on this. A few stories like mine where alcohol helps people but no articles etc.

So in summation - does anyone else suffer with this? What can I do?

I eat fiber - I drink tons of water - Dr diagnosed me with IBS - although no real battery of tests was done to confirm, apparently IBS is diagnosed though a "lack of diagnosis"

Prune juice from spar and while you are at it buy a bag of dried prunes and eat them at the same time .
I find they give best results.
:D

After that I find i am not full of shyt .

There are two things which make me run pretty quickly. A pear and an apricot.

I have the same. I drink TONS of water every day, eat more fiber than most people, and I still struggle, and have struggled for years.

However, last year sometime, I started taking psyllium husk (Fybogel). It has helped considerably. I take one at night, but not every morning. I eat a bowl of Bokomo Bran Flakes (higher fiber than All Bran) in the morning, so sometimes I skip the Fybogel in the morning. I take magnesium supplements but not every day.

Suffered for years. Now a glass of hot water at 5am and I'm fixed for the day :D:D
6am and 9am. Can check my watch.

Then you should drink a few home brews, the yeast in the beer is a laxative.

You can try coffee but your problem sounds like IBS.Dont waste your time with a gp,they have limited knowledge on digestive issues. You need to see a Gastroenterologist.I had IBS in the past and know how uncomfortable it can be

Black Coffee

And through the course of the day. 15-20grams of bicarbonate of soda Three times.

Re - bicarbonate of soda

You can also use soda ash (exactly the same) at about a third of the cost from most car battery suppliers and pool maintenance joints.

I remember, as a kid, hearing my folks talk about Crotan oil which seems quite potent and my dad saying that it could make one sh 1 t through the eye of a needle. It will most likely fix you if it doesn't kill you.

Let us know if it works and, if we don't hear from you, we will assume that it worked too well.

Croton oil has some unique and powerful therapeutic effects.

Irritant – It irritates the skin.
Exfoliant – It sloughs off the outer layer of skin.
Inflammatory – When applied to the skin, it causes inflammation and a sharp negative reaction.
Pain Inducer – It is the exact opposite of analgesic. It causes sharp pain when applied on the skin.
Purgative – When taken internally, it can leads to diarrhea even in the smallest amounts. It is used to purge the intestines but this requires expertise and knowledge of the right concentration to be used.
Cytocidal – Some species of Croton yield cytocidal properties. They kill individual cells, which can be beneficial in cancer treatment. [1]
Anti-helminthic – It is used to kill specific intestinal parasites.
Tumor – It contains a compound called phorbol esters. These have been identified to have tumor promoting effects.

Bicarb is like a quick enema. Really cleans you up.

I even use this stuff in my shoes to keep them smelling fresh.

Never.
I often wonder if my gut is lined with asbestos because I love hot food.
If I ever got married again it would be to an Indian lady who knew how to make hot curries.

Reason i ask, is because I do from Chili and bread - and Renies in excess have a good laxative effect,

Also, I take Flaxseed and Omega oil capsules - the wife seems to think I need routine maintenance - these certainly help too,
