The SAPS are just plainly fcucking useless - as for their leader, please give me a break...
That they are; scared too as the business forums are often rumoured to have strong ANC connections and untouchable. Police (SAPS and Metro) used to come when sites were taken over by gangsters armed with AK47's etc (my partner thought that the hi jackers were site security and started chatting to them!). Now they do not even move (the police that is) for any "community" related violent protest or work stoppage. Private, armed security (20 guards) is about R150k per day (I kid you not) and isn't effective. Stopped, our little site costs the city R10k per day; had about 60 days so far.

This is a construction site right? with those deep holes that get filled with concrete to form foundations right?

It's like what happened with illegal mining, the authorities just ignored the problem and it grew into this monster that they can no longer control. The construction mafia had it a little easier because they grew out of RET and Zuma and his good allowed them to operate because it suited his needs. I think MKVA are involved there as muscle. Now they've grown into another monster which is branching out into mining communities and threatening mining companies when they don't give them tenders. They organise communities to burn, etc. Much like the Italian mafia, lol.

Well said.

It is equivalent to State Capture (Business/Political mafia) with an aspect of violence.

Easy. If you start or own a construction business, do it outside South Africa. Make a killing where there are no syndicates. Create employment and wealth in another country.
