Construction van falls into 'Gautrain hole'

Yes, but remember our workers are exploited, over-worked and under-paid.

Tim do you think these kinds of thing only happen in this country?

Go look up bridges collapsing during peak hour traffic in other countries and then lets talk about how poor SA is. Why is when something like this happens in this country people take the view that it can only happen in africa lol, it happens all over the world even in 1st world countries.

It's easy to blame the "Africa" mentality when something goes wrong, and it's getting old.

There have been a few bridges that have collapsed in the USA in very recent times, but you will never hear anyone say "only in the USA."

No wonder I didn't go study civil engineering... make 2mil this year, get sued 3mil the next :D

Yes, but killadoob, this was the second time on the same road.

"Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

And when the road collapses for the fifteenth time? Oh, but I remember a bridge that once collapsed in the USA in the 1960s. So it makes it all alright.

So it would appear:

Workers in South Africa are just about as lazy as workers in Germany, Brazil, France...workers. They waste nearly half less time at work than those in the other countries, showed...every working year (or 1.7 days of every work week) doing things which do not deliver

Um this happens everywhere in the world. For crying out loud a massive construction site is a dangerous place.

On the other hand, the Coega harbour in PE. The drivers had to wear life jackets at all time because they kept driving into the water. From what i heard there are loads of trucks at the bottom of Coega harbour.

BEE contractor digs the hole for the Gautrain. They create a hole big enough to swallow a truck. Then they get a BEE contractor to fix the hole. And another hole appears...

Viva Africa Viva :D

Yes, but this is underneath a populated area. It is not a construction site!
