Hi

I'm new to contact lenses so thought I would find out the following (if you could complete):

Brand you wear: ...................
Monthly / Two Weekly / Daily: ...........................
Where you buy from: ..............................
Price you pay (for what size pack).....................
Cheapest place you buy from: ........................

Any other details you'd like to share!

Thanks

CIBA VISION
Dailies AquaComfort Plus (you can thank me now)
Pack: 90
Price: unsure
Get from Optometrist only because medical aid will pay.

Dailies suit my lifestyle, wear, throw away... no cleaning no BS. Contacts in general feel great the first day but crappy as time goes on, a new pair everyday sorts out that problem. Also I don't wear contacts everyday only on weekends or during the week when I ride my bike so a pack of 90 lasts alot longer than 3 months.

Back when I still wore them I started off on the hard ones which lasted a year or more, went to the monthly ones after that and finally ended up with daily disposables which I wore for the longest time, think they were bausch and lomb and I got them from the optometrist.

My only concern with daily - I think they work out a lot more expemsive :(

Your daily lenses do work out more. Your dailies are only available in 30 day packs and 90 day packs where your monthly lenses come in 6's which means you can get a 3month supply (if your script in both eyes are the same...) for round about R305

Sadly I have Toric Lenses in my one eye. Which brand are you referring to for R305?

The ones I wear come in 30,90,120day packs
I'm not sure but I think 3 months work out around R500

I my case dailies actually work out cheaper because I only wear them maybe 3-4 days a week which means my 3month pack(90) will last 5-6 months.
With monthlies if I open it today after a month I have to throw it away even though I might have only worn them for 10days so my 3 month supply only lasts 3 months.

R305 are your Acuvue lenses, but if you have toric you can look at about R356 per box.

Dailies do work out better if you only wear your lenses once in a while, but if you wear them every day... it can become expensive especially if you need toric lenses.

My bad.. the Acuvue Torics are R396 per box :erm: but before choosing a brand, your Optometrist are suppose to give you free trial lenses to use for a week or two to see if you are comfortable with the brand. Make sure you don't get cheated out of your free trial lenses :)

From a small private optomotrist. Does either eye require toric?

A toric lense is if you have astigmatism in your eye...
