Continual dissconnection with Bitorrent on Afrihost capped.

I will do the factory reset, but would you agree with my MTU and MRU settings as these are what I will be putting back in. Or anything else :-)

I assume you are using a non standard setup there then because it shows your IP and gateway as the same?
 
It might be that your torrent client is opening up to many connections and your modem/router cannot handle it and disconnects. Have you tried lowering the the max connections in the client to something much lower and testing from there? I have heard of cases where this has happened and people fixed it by dropping the max connections limit.

I don't think you have that setup, the PPPoE Dialer would have been setup on your actual PC, and not the modem itself.

I think this is also something I would recommend looking at, I didn't even think of asking you to check this on your Torrent Client.

That's a good one :-) My Max no of connections 200. Maybe set it to around 50? I'll definately try that. Thanks for the suggestion :-)

So far so good. Just downloaded a 700MB movie without a single disconnection. Reduced my "Maximum number of connections per torrent" from 200 to 30. And the d/l wasn't slower, if anything it looked faster... Will try a few more over the coming days.

So it's a router issue then. Make plans to get a new one, once ac becomes mainstream.

Glad you're making progress on things :) I'll agree with mwill though, I think it's time to upgrade to a super uber awesome router.

More connections will add more protocol overhead reducing actual download speed. I have max peers per torrent set to 50 and max peers overall to 400. Also have uTP, PEX & DHT enabled. I've also forwarded a port on my router for incoming connections.

I have it at 25 total 25 per torrent and it saturates my line O_o why on earth would you need 400 peers
