Hey guys need some advice please.

I have an 082 number originally with Voda, ported to MTN 2 years ago. (worst decision of my life)
I now have the contract ending on the last day of December 2010.
I want to move back to Vodacom as I think in terms of service, they are the best of the bad bunch.

I do not remember the procedure.
How would I go about this? I have another 082 Voda number so it should be easy however not sure when to do it or how to proceed.

Thanks

Hi Marine. You go to a Vodashop and tell them you want to port your number back to us. You need to provide them with the number in question, your ID number, MTN account number for them to submit the port request on the system for MTN to approve the port. Seeing that you already have a Vodacom SP account, they will just require ID and Proof of Physical address to do a add on line to your account to port the number back into your existing Vodacom SP account. Once done, you instruct MTN to stop all billing from their side. MTN has habbit of charging you subs even though the number has been ported. Happened to my mom when I ported her over to us.

Crap...forgot about those damn batteries of yours. Let me mail the supplier and ask what is happening with the stock situation. Will PM you.

Go into a MTN shop, fill out the forms and ask for a copy. Sorted.

*Ah....you want to migrate back to Vodacom, not cancel the contract. Follow OC's advice. :)

Ok thanks only need one battery and can you do the porting back for me?
Thanks I will come and see you then?

If the contract ends on 31 December when should I start the process?

Is it possible to port a number over to prepaid on another provider? Say, from Virgin to Cell C. How much would this cost? I know normally it's free if you're taking out a new contract. I dont plan on taking out a new contract once my contract expires so will eventually switch over to prepaid with the provider that has the best data rates. Just wondering what this would cost if at all.

I can help you with that sure. PM me the into requested above so long and we can submit the request so long. You will also have to tell me what phone and what tarrif you would like, or how many minutes and if you need it to be off peak only or anytime so that we can check what the deal would be. I always suggest that people contact their current SP to enquire when they can port with no charge. Somtimes people port and then their EX SP throws them a nasty little surprize in the mail. tsk tsk

Remember to take an MTN account with you to Vodacom.

If you port to us....then from our side the only cost to you would be to purchase the prepaid starter pack. Thats it.
