Hi - I hope this isn't a stupid question, but does anyone know if there are contract analysers out there? Something where you can plug in call history or something and see what you would've paid on different contracts?

Otherwise, how do most people decide what contract to go for?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
James

Estimate your monthly usage (calculate the minutes, or the rand value). Then find a contract which gives you more-or-less the same rand value or minutes, but at the cheapest price. It's not hard to do. You don't need a tool to calculate it for you. I like the MTN Anytime packages. They give great value for money, have one rate, any time, to any network. It's simple. No peak or off peak. And you get much better phones with MTN then with Vodacom or Cell C, for equivalent contracts. However, MTN's billing and admin systems are dodgy, and their call center really sucks. So if you have a problem, you gonna be pulling your hair out (or what's left of it).... so it's a catch 22 I gues...

At the moment, it is cheaper to be on prepaid. With MTN (One Rate) and Vodacom (all day)... If you don't need a new phone, switch to prepaid. It's much cheaper.

Thanks ToxicWazte. Being as anal as I am though, I went and downloaded my last 3 months itemised billings and fiddled in Excel a bit. Think I've done a fair job, but do u know what MTN considers to be after hours? I've worked on saturdays and sundays and anytime before 7am or after 7pm.
