Contract Cancellation: Need Your Advice (Resolved!)

Hi All

I cancelled my contract (expired on 06 Nov 2012) on the 2nd OCT 2012 however a few minutes ago I received my latest invoice and guess what Vodacom is billing me for the month of Nov 2012:mad:, called 111 and query this and the Lady told that they (Vodacom) added the normal free minutes for Nov 2012, why are they doing this? My contract expired on the 6 Nov 2012 full stop....
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

No I called them on the phone to cancel. They confirmed today that my contract expired on 6 Nov 2012 but they added the free minutes for Nov which I don't want....my question why must I pay for something I did not request from them.

All services start afresh on the 1st and a new proposed invoice is opened. Lines only gets deleted at the end of the month. You line will be deleted end of November if they confirmed that the deletion has been loaded. You should have gotten a SMS confirming this. Again....as I have said so many times now on here @ mybb....this kind of thing is best done in writing...faxed and proof of transmission kept for future reference.

How does VC bill? 1-31(?)
Or 6-5th of next month?

If your billing is from 1st then they would add it. Meaning you could only really give notice on 1 Nov.

On MTN I recently ported my 1 number to prepaid. As the billing run is on the 7th I ported it on the 6th.
Due to them still billing for calls out of bundle I had those to pay the end of Oct, but not another contact amount.

Thanks Ockie and Chiligirl.
My point again....my contract expired on the 6 Nov 2012 I did cancel in time I never requested Vodacom to add minutes. The Consultant this afternoon confirmed they received my cancellation request.
I don't care whether their billing month runs from 1st till month-end as far as it concerns me my contract ended on 06 Nov 2012.

Thanks Ockie and Chiligirl.

I would suggest you send "VodacomDats" a PM requesting his assistance. Yes I concure with Ockie that when dealing with contract and their termination then it should be in writting.

Feedback On My Complaint

I submitted a complaint last night to ICASA regarding this overcharging by Vodacom, today I received an acknowledgement from both ICASA and Vodacom, didn't expect such quick responses.
Will keep you updated.

Update 13 Nov 2012

Received an e-mail from Vodacom HQ this morning offering me credit for 24 days and to cancel my contract immediately.

Thanks to ICASA for forwarding my complaint to Vodacom and also my sincere thanks to Vodacom for resolving my issue:)
