Contract Data Bundle purchase notification: Your feedback please

@v3g, noted, just thought the need to highlight the latency issue - especially since the contract data usage monitoring also suffers from some serious latency issues.

Also, something that you posted the other day, that I found interesting, is that you guesstimated that there are currently more pre-paid data customers than there are contract data customers, I wonder why that might be...:D

It's been (and still is) one of my personal crusades to get CDB's real-time.

You know the problems we had the first time around with these systems, but hopefully the technology is now much more mature (PPDB seems quite stable), but I'm also not going to get into the same situation as last....

So let agree on a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy....;)
Agreed, that's the reason why I'm resisting that overwhelming urge to ask :).

Back to the notification SMSes, and setting aside VMC-Lite SMS & 3rd-party service provider issues, I still think we need that [additional] initial SMS notification that says something like the following [to be sent at the time when the customer hits the service addition submit button on v4me or sends a MyMeg|MyGIG SMS or uses the USSD menu]:
Code:
1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890
1/2 RE: Your xMB Data Bundle Purchase Request: Please be patient, your request is being processed, please wait for the data bundle activation notification.
which would then be followed by the 2/2 SMS that has just been introduced for CDB customers, i.e. the one that was sent 50 minutes later when you were testing the CDB system.

All current versions of VMC now supports SMS, so it's not a problem. 3G routers still is.

With a data SIM do I get the notifications on my "primary SIM" ?

Oh and BTW, in the source code for the latest 3G router firmware, there appears to be a SMS cabaility, which is just not enabled (compile time option).
