Got my Galaxy S5 on contract upgrade today, with starter pack and all.

Question: I got a numberless sim card, which is not activated at all as of yet. Now, I called 140, and the lady advised me that I need to do a sim swap to get my number onto the new sim.

Firstly, is this the correct procedure?

Secondly, will I need to pay something for this? The lady on the phone did not indicate any extra costs to me.

If it costs anything more than R50, I would rather not do it, as LTE won't make much difference in my life, especially due to the small data caps that cell phone service providers give at silly prices, thus I'd rather use my same old sim card.

Thanks in advance.

Well first of all Cellc does not offer LTE at the moment.

If you got a new sim from Cellc direct with your upgrade you can phone 084145 and press the option 3 and they will be able to assist you in doing the sim swap for free however if the sim is the correct size or if you want to keep the old one and cut it it would be fine too. They usually just send a new numberless sim with new or upgrades because they are not always sure what simcard size you currently have so they send you the correct size for your new device.

BT doing the sim swap via 140 would cost you a fee of R50 so if you intend to do the sim swap you need to do it via 084145 as it should be free with your upgrade. :)
