Control XBMC over wifi ?

Also using Constellation, very good app.

But, if you want more than just a remote and want to watch on your apple device then Plex is a winner. Costs $5 but worth it. I tried the Boxee app, but they do not have a server side app for Linux (yet?) and I found the interface on the boxee app isn't nearly as cool as Plex. Also watching 1080p streaming video on your iPad is pretty awesome.

Now all Plex need to do is release a client for Linux :)
I've already got AirVideo for my wifi viewing (and file conversion) so I'll skip plex for now. Constellation is a bit buggy.

Agreed that Constellation is buggy. Bombs out quite a bit.
Glad to hear it's not just me.

I'm enjoying XMBC but I find a lot of duplicate entries in my library that shouldn't be there.

In settings, you need to clean up your library. That works for my duplicate issue.

And if you're looking for a really simple and elegant skin, I've started using ReFocus and the kids in my house (12 and 13) are more than capable of using it without a hassle...

I've tried the clean up but perhaps it needs doing again.

I'll check out ReFocus now - thanks.

Yes, controls just about anything :)
Keyboard/mouse or remotes for vlc, sbmc, windows live etcetc
Fair enough but this thread is in the iPhone and iPad section. :)

Clean library usually works. If it doesn't, then change the content type, and then change it back. This forces a rescan of your library without losing watched status. Long process if you don't save metadata with your media.

Slightly off topic, but checkout mediacompanion , for xbmc, think there's a life hacker guide. Well save you a lot of hassles.

what i love most about constellation is the YouTube integration for checking out movie previews.

Clean library seems to have worked this time. I think my messing about with the folder structure on the drive was probably to blame. :o

I would but it looks like it's PC only and the computer I'm using is my old Mac Mini.

It didn't have to suit Piccadilly. You can do it remotely. But there's probably a Mac alternative
