Cookware - pot set help

AMC pots are now induction friendly.

Yes. The New Generation of AMC cookware launched in April 2009 is “induction friendly”, and can be used “as is” on induction stove tops. The New Generation is featured on our website and is the only range on sale at this point in time.

Our previous ranges of cookware can be used in conjunction with the AMC InSim Plate on induction cookers.

Copper pots with stainless steel on the insides.
There are two brands. One is mauviel and the other I cannot remember. There is a place called culinary experts near the lanseria airport.

I used amc. Then also used cast iron. Right now I'm trialling a copper pot.

Kenwood pots as an option

I recently bought a set of Kenwood pots from Hirschs. Very happy with them. THICK bases... all stainless. Ovenproof. Good for use on induction cookers as well.

The big ones are BIG. For the first time there are actually all nice useable sizes, not just one big pot, and a few small ones.

This link isn't from Hirsches, but it's the set bought.

Le Creuset - Buffet Casserole size 26 - now R1650 - mince dishes, potato bake, chicken breyani, etc
Le Creuset - Skillet size 23 - now R740 - flapjacks, omelettes, scrambles, general frying, etc (Big Bang Theory set has a few hanging from a wall-rack in the kitchen)
Le Creuset - Oval Casserole size 31 -now R2550 - roasts, big stews, soups, etc

El cheapo teflon non-stick (Spar, Game) size 20cm - R99 - throw-away, lasts 2 years max - pancakes, quick frying

The above - all I have ever used and need for small family meals and bigger (in-laws ) functions.

Max temp on stove for Le Creuset is #5 on the dial as cast iron holds and retains heat very well. I cook mostly on #1 after a short stint on #5 - saves plenty of electricity. Nice thing about Le Creuset is that it can go from the stove to the oven to the table and still look larney. And the colours available these days are stunning.
