Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 6

Thank you for reaching out.
Normally activations take up to 48hrs. But I will follow up internally as well
Update: The line seems to be activated with the full line speed. I'll monitor & report any further issues.

Thanks for all the support for the last few days, again much appreciated.

I'll continue recommending Coolideas friends & family.

Thank you very much for confirming your connection. I'm glad that all is finally resolved..
We appreciate your continued support:notworthy:

Yo is anyone else having like slow connection/long loading times on literally anything in the Cape Town region on openserve?
I can't even load twitch or MyBB properly for that case. It loads eventually after 199999 refreshes but just overall slow connection

HI there, I'm not aware of any general issue at the moment. Is it okay if I can do a Port reprovision for you quick? You will notice a brief disconnection

I had this two mornings in a row just after 08:00 and both times restarting the ONT fixed it.

Thanks dude, let's see, how tf do you know what my details are am I crazy or am I like being watched rn
Oh sorry about that, I should have elaborated. I went in your post history, and found an old ticket you shared with us.
Otherwise I would have asked for it first ofc.

So why is it, such as now, our power went off, and when it came back on we have no internet, which means I need to log a ticket so they can reset it their (CISP) side.
Its not my router and its not the ONT.

Hi, it's not like our stuff has also stopped :)

Usually, a loss of layer2

Would need to check with the fno why it doesn't restore :(

Lights on CPE/ONT? Who is the FNO?

It is best to then log a ticket for me, and we can have Vumatel investigate what's happening.

We're here to assist, it's frustrating. I understand.

Can I postpone my January Fibre cancellation request by 1 month? Is there a penalty for doing so, is it too late to delay my pending cancellation request by 1 month to end of February instead?

Hi there, the cut-off date for a retraction is the 20th of the month in which your line will terminate. So, you might be billed a retraction fee, should you request a retraction after this date.

Edit: The requests may not be retractable as well, depending on how far the order has progressed with the FNO. So, basically the request will be reviewed & out team will advise if the retraction can be actioned without being billed a re-connection fee.

Thanks, how much is the retraction fee typically, assuming it's possible to retract?

Must I just try to retract via the portal and then the team will advise?

Edit: I think the retraction worked.

I believe the reconnection Fee is R1000, will need to verify this though (to be confirmed)

Indeed, you will be able to request a retraction, however this is only client-side. Our team will still need to confirm if the retraction is eligible with the FNO.
