Hi,
I find it rather hard to justify paying for FTTB in order to get a static IP; with the recent move to remote work (as a Software and DevOps practitioner) I find myself needing a static IP address more than ever.
I am unable to use DynDNS as I need to add my IP to various firewall rules for GCP and various DBaaS products. I also need to be able to setup IPSec VPNs between my home network and VPCs in the Cloud.
I genuinely believe that Cool Ideas should allow people on FTTH to reserve an IP for a monthly fee and not try get customers to move to FTTB which would be overkill for myself as I am just one person on my network, lower contention ratios on FTTB will also not benefit me.
I am sure there are other people who share the same frustrations as I do, even on other ISPs.
Is there anyway for me to do this besides tripling my current monthly installment by moving to FTTB? If not then I would like to ask that you consider the above suggestion.
Kind Regards
