Cool paid Android apps

TAPTALK??? Pay for it???
Do you mean it actually works if you pay for it? :p

SoundHound, free on HTC, is brilliant. if my next phone doesn't have pre-installed, I'll still buy it. At R48, its a bargain price, especially considering how amazing it is. Just forego a McDonalds or KFC meal one day and you can afford it :D

Compared to Shazam?

I've bought all of those apps except smart tools. I've tried soundhound but I "knew" shazam first (not sure if it was first) and soundhound didn't seem to really offer anything else I needed. I like to use shazam even if I know what the song is to remind me to get it later.

What's wrong with Tapatalk? I've been using it for a year across two devices without any problems. It's probably my most used application.

+1. Works perfectly for me - also across multiple devices.
Only device I don't like it on is my iPad3. The implementation there is horrible IMO.

Intermittent errors about the server not responding, and when an error comes up you have to exit and restart - it never recovers. Does that on my Blackberry too.

I usually get the server not responding error when I'm on a weak 3G signal or EDGE, so in my case I don't think it's the app, but rather the network

I have tried 3 of the apps on RPM's list there....

One app (Free) worth having is FX File Explorer.... I swear by it.

Yeah - I get it on Cell C regularly, my Wifi not as much but occasionally. It wouldn't be so bad if it actually recovered to try again, but you have to exit and login all over again. SCHLEP!

lol @ SoundHound.
Shazaam FTW. Both cool apps, but unless you've spend your days wallowing in a sonic black hole, hoping to catch and identify tunes on the radio, it's really not worth it buying SH instead of just downloading Shazaam.

Been using tapatalk for ages works like a dream.

I also have Soundhound installed - its free though? They do a paid for version but you can get away with the free version.
