Hi guys,

How can I cool my MSI X58A-GD65 motherboard's northbridge?
It is really a tight spot, since I have an ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme above it and an Asus sound card below it.

I found a YouTube video of a guy adding a 40mm fan to that motherboard's NB and I was shocked to see how poorly the thermalpaste was applied by MSI!
I think I'm definitely going to replace the thermal paste on it very soon - before I get the fan.

Where can I source 40mm fans like that? I didn't see any at LandmarkPC, who is quite into modding equipment.
While I'm on this topic, where can I source 40mm fans in general? I'm also looking for more of them to fit in an CFi Group ITX case of mine, where the silly Zotac motherboard's heatsinks are also running way to hot with just passive cooling.

After I ran BF3 for about 3 hours with my FSB set at only 160MHz on my MSI X58A-GD65 motherboard, my PC froze and I have a suspicion that it is due to the northbridge overheating, because I couldn't touch it with my fingers even after I switched off my PC for a few minutes :(

I haven't specifically monitored the temperatures, but I'm pretty sure it was that. Even my Marvel 6Gbps controller couldn't finish initializing after I tried to start my PC up again.

Perhaps I was too used to my awesome Asus P6T Deluxe v2 motherboard, where I had no issues at 175Mhz FSB. I've now placed my Asus' NB cooler loosely on top of my Asus sound card just as a temporary measure.

Thanks in advance!

I have one of those bought from esquire... only problem is it is freaking loud at the fastest speed, though does help with airflow in the case and with cooling a specific spot.
