Cooling your router

My TP-Link TD-W9980 also gets extremely hot, compared to all the other modem/routers I've had.

Something I need to cool is my DSTV HD decoder, that thing gets way too hot.

Newer routers are far more powerful. Mine has dual processors for example.

How and where do you mount it. And is the power to the decoder the same voltage ?

Yebo, but i dont know what power they need, maybe USB powered?

If USB it's not a problem, my HTPC is just above it or I can use a USB plug. Hmmm gonna hint around maybe I will get one for xmas

Mmmmmm I never had any issues with extensive router heat, in the new year I'm buying myself a TP-Link Archer D7, if it's a issue I guess the easiest solution will be a USB powered laptop cooler powered from the routers USB port.
