COPE = Epic fail?

Your a sad sad man gary and as much as i know you dislike me this is even worse than calling me a jew hater because i do not like US. Very sad and i have reported you for inciting racism, first time i have ever reported anyone on this forum but your making me sick gary.

I'm making this into a racial thing??? That's rich! You are the one who stated that the DA is "too white"! Do you even read your own posts?

+1

I never understood that thinking. Its almost like the whole make up of a sports team thing. If a person is doing a good job and is efficient it shouldnt matter if its a white woman or a black man

killadoob. It was the old apartheid doctrine that anyone who was not white was inferior and had no soul. They lumped all of the other races into one group "non-whites" and treated them as inferior. Are you wanting to take us back to those days? You want only two categories, "black and white"?... and throw everyone who is not "pure-black" into the white category?

it sounds to me you are being extremely pedantic when the rest of us knew exactly what he was getting at.

DA will be seen as a white party regardless of the coloureds, indians, blacks they having working under the DA umbrella. As long as a white woman is at the helm it will do nothing to entice a black voter. South Africa still votes according to colour. That's just reality. Deal with it!

The masses are what wins an election for you.

exactly.

The DA is a white party, its just the coloured people help them more in WC,that's all.

The ID is a coloured party.

Problem isn't the DA. Problem is voter education. When people in the country can vote for any party without seeing colour then we have a proper democracy. The solution isn't changing the DA to a black party, the solution is educating the population.

This thread was about COPE failing as a political party. It was fine, until you started in with the racial comments. I sought to correct your ignorant and racist statement. If you want to report me for that, fine. We will let the mods decide. The fact is... you took the thread off topic and introduced the racial division. I took exception to the statement that the DA is "too white". It really has nothing to do with race or colour, but everything to do with ideology.

deal with it.

How bout a new party - NSA
The NEW SOUTH AFRICA party

Slogan - The ANC liberated us from apartheid now lets move on and build a NATION!

Modern ANC friendly party instead of an anti ANC party anyone wanna try that?

Sadly the new SA is a teenager running around having unprotected sex.

The reality is people still vote based on colour without a doubt, so the DA will never know if having a black person at the reigns would help or not but i can assure you serget without doubt that having a white running the DA will never bring in the black vote, for me that is the reality. Not a racist comment or biased but a realistic outlook on how this country is.

that ignores the racial dynamics that are still very rife in our country.

You have a point but it will be a long long time before that happens.

pedantic???, because I took exception to a statement that draws along racial lines?

I don't see why we have to bring race or sex into this at all? Who cares that the leader is a white woman?

Oh, excuse me... obviously it is offensive to you guys and one of the first things you notice.

Sorry, but I am not as sensitive to issues of race and sex as you guys. I don't jump to conclusions about a party based on what race or sex their leader is. I would rather listen to what they say.

if you delve into all the parties, their policies are very similar. yes there are differences here and there, but fundamentally they are the same.

the differentiating factor is perception about that party. The perception about the DA is that it is a white party. The perception about COPE is that it is a black-middle class party.

For the DA to do better it has to convince black South Africans that perception is false. For COPE to do better it has to convince South Africans it has the interests of the poor at heart.
