COPE = Epic fail?

Did I read it right that JustAsk and Vegeta are coloureds? These guys sound more black than me ek se. :)
/hides
Yes you read correctly, i'm not going to flame you or anything no need to hide lol :p... Thing is i feel that coloureds are being used by the DA in the WC if that same population was purple the DA would have used them for votes and ignore the rest. Its not so much that they care for the people in Mitchells Plain its more a case of they NEED those people.

And thats why i might not sound like your average Helen loving capey. ;)

Quite true - they made it out to be like a 50/50 split. Now it just looks like a snake that has shed old skin:p.

exatcly my point :)

I have to admit, it did make this election kinda fun. People where standing in queues for 3 - 4 hours to part take and it looks like the biggest turn-out ever. So the hype was good in creating that setting. But to now look at the results and then sit back and think, "WTF is this?" "Where is COPE?"

It's a pretty big let down :p

Pitbull

Cope's votes are still to come.

Urban areas...huge numbers

Up till now they did great with votes that's not suppose to favour them.

Pit as said above lets wait for the final Count before we start jumping to conclusions, my feelings are COPE will do much better than expected :).

Pitbull do you have a link to anyone credible predicting more than 30% for COPE?

I hope you guys are right. If urban votes are still mostly uncounted it could completely change the picture we have now. DA could climb to 20% and COPE could conceivably add a few percentage points as well. If that happens ANC could slip to closer to 60%... and that would be just grand.

Whether they get 1% or 10% is immaterial so long as it is at the expense of the ANC...

Predictions are just that...... Predictions. I never read the predictions and I guess that 90% of SA never did either. The predictions has nothing to do with the hyoe created...

Or am I missing something ?

My prediction as of now:

ANC 62%
DA 17%
COPE 9%
FF+ 3%
ID 3%
IFP 2%
________
96/100%

I'm just trying to figure out where on earth you got the idea that COPE would amass a huge percentage of votes?

Because that is how the media portrayed it. They made COPE seem the biggest opposition to the ANC. They aren't really are they?

Now that could be interresting :)

I'm talking about the votes as they stand currently. Sure my view might be a little premature. But we needed a thread to discuss it :p I hope They get more votes, 12% at least  (And now I don;t care from which party they got votes. I just care because I like competition and a race. It's something to look forward too)

Amass like in 60%, 50%, 40% ?

No, again maybe read the thread again. I was hoping for them to at least be in competition with the DA. Currently they are not even scratching the cloud of smoke the DA left behind when the blasted to 20%.

Serget, if this idea came "from the media", perhaps you or Pitbull could point me to one such media article which would lead a reasonable person to believe that COPE would achieve 30+%

I think maybe you need to learn to be more discerning when absorbing information from the media.

COPE was a latecomer and they were very disorganised. I think the time was too short for them to launch a proper campaign.

I mean, to this day it is not clear what their "war cry" was: Hope? COPE for Hope? What hope? Be specific man!!
