Copper? I don't need no steenking copper.

uhuh.

Also, at least double the cost when other factors are included, there's more to access than just bandwidth...

You can get 100Mbit symmetrical, uncontended international for R 3 200 / month?

Where, pray tell?

2 Years later... When did you apply? We usually have to wait 6 months... then it can get quite long... Ah, see 3 months.

64k / month (special rate) is way too much...

How many gigs per month, local and international breakouts?

Uncontended, symmetrical, international, no monthly gig limits.
But the 64k is bandwidth only.
Start including, fibre lease cost, termination, port costs etc etc, and its MUCH more.

However, the next 100Mbit, will be under 64k.

Neotel 100Mbit is R37k a month.

Ja, I've experienced Neotel fibre... Thats why I use MTN.
"Low contention" is NOT uncontended, when they reach a contention ratio of 3:1 then we can start comparing apples to apples.

“Best-Effort Service...
Soft Cap & Fair Usage ...."

You ARE joking, right?

A little more info to make it interesting... Call center? Video production and hosting? I know quite a few companies that would consider moving that part of their business out of country at nearly a million a year.

I have been using it for the last 2 years and it always performs at 105 -110% line speed with great latency and had 100% uptime during those two years.
We have just moved offices and they should be finishing the splices today for my new connection.
I also have never seen any soft capping taking place. Each to his own though I always say.

/peeks in
/sees someone paying R64,000pm for a 100/100 connection
/looks at his 200/10 connection for R750pm
/thinks about his 600/100 connection in two months for R1,200pm.
/shakes head in pity

Still, welcome to world-class internet access. Enjoy your stay :)

Though, for the price you're paying each month you might as well make a list of stuff you want to download/upload, fly over to visit me, get/send it from here and give me the money you have left.

At least you'd get some sight-seeing out of it.

then you still need to buy bandwidth, its not included in the link speed...
