I exist only in my own mind ...
I'm looking for a way to copy the "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (legacy)" driver from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

This driver existed in Win 7 64-bit, but has been removed from Windows 8 and my scanner needs this driver in order to operate. :(

Drivermax looks as if it could be a good solution, but the Windows 8 version isn't out yet and the current version doesn't play nice with Windows 8.

Back it up with Driver Magician and install on 8 manually? Linky

Yup you can also backup the driver with drivermax and just install the driver manually on win 8.

Will drivermax etc; backup the signing too? I've manually copied the 'legacy' firewire driver from a Win7 x64 machine but you still have to use bcedit and such to boot with driver signing disabled.
