Copyright Infringement Notice?

Isn't the first mail you receive a warning anyhow? Something like 'please delete that file and never do it again'?

You realise they're going to blacklist you now, right? You'll be lucky if Axxess doesn't lay a civil suit against you, because they're going to get a fine for this.

This too. :)

Wow....

Could you be more misinformed? They forward the mails because they don't know better and get annoyed with the pressure. They have no legal stance against op and no foreign company has legal stance against axxess. There will be no fines.

Yes IS actually forwards these DMCA complaint from US to the users. Telkom backbone [aka SAIX] just never does anything with these emails. So if you are using IS you can expect to get these emails. Nothing more than scare tactics. Although I heard that some ISP's actually cut internet access after recieving these emails which is think might not be legal without a court order?

these notices have no legal force and effect in SA and no SA ISP would disable access on this basis

correct - some ISPs forward these mails so that they can argue that they took reasonable steps to deal with infringements on their networks where these were alleged by a copyright holder

Edit: You'd have to have the IQ of a monkey to have taken what I wrote there seriously.
