Thanks. I see the price is around R1600. With all the new technology, we sit with lots of old technology hanging around the house. Appreciate the suggestion.

Why do you not just get a VOIP capable cordless phone? You can then link your current handsets to the new base station via DECT registration process- will work for the calling piece.
Advantage is that you should be able to load a number of SIP providers (eg I have my regular SIP provider (for R85/month line rental) as well as a FreshPhone account loaded).
I bought my Siemens VOIP cordless from Cool Ideas for R1750 - think they have the Yealink version for same price. Or look at any other ISP....
