Do you have 11 647 3dmarks? Please post the link

Ha Ha Ha. It took such an effort to get that score I doubt If I could ever repeat it. At least not without dedicating an entire Saturday to matching it.
Also it's crazy expensive to run at those speeds on the gfx card :/

PearlJam i have a pic if you want.
The CPU/ram was pretty much stock. The true power was in the gfx cores :)

i know i linked this somewhere else on this forum, but my x6800 with 7950gx2 got around 9600 if i remember correctly, stock cpu and ram with mild oc on gfx.

10000 3dmarks is easy enough nowdays if you got a big wallet.:-) 15k takes talent (which i dont have enough of)

Memory speeds

I noticed and have read that DDR2 memory speeds, 533 - 667- 800 matter only slightly in real world apps and games and timings, 5-5-5-12 or less even less of a difference. The only place I see any change is in benchmarks as have many threads I've read. That would explain the only slight difference in Grav!ty's system and mine in the AquaMark test. His Video card wins out by a small percent. 14377 vs 14331. So from what I see don't spend the extra cash for DDR2 800, it would be better gone toward a more potant video card.

Grav!ty system = E6600 at 2.40 GHz
ASUS P5B Deluxe WiFi-AP
2 X 1024 MB OCZ DDR2 800 PC2-6400 Gold GX XTC
GeForce 7900 GT

AQM = GFX 18801
CPU 14377
Total = 113660

My system = E6600 at 2.40 GHz
Intel DG965SS
2 X 1024 MB Kingston DDR2 667 PC2-5300
GeForce 7800 GT CO

AQM = GFX 18567
CPU 14331
Total = 112698

I would say 15K also needs a massive wallet. For one you'll need DICE/Vapos or LN2. Non of those are easy to come by (maybe DICE, but the block etc can be a nightmare) YOu'll need 2x-X1900XT/X1950XT or 2x7900GT/GTX. And some kick ass ram that can overclock crazy.

UNfortunately with anything but E6700/E6800 you're gonna need a mobo that can clock well past the 470MHz mark and possibly 500MHz mark at whcih point even using the lowest ram divider will put your ram the other side of 800MHz. which means DDR2 667 won't do or at least not many sets will go past this speed.

AM3 isn't so mcuh a GPU test than it is a CPU test.
3DM06 has a btter balance of cpu/gfx and yes timmings make very little difference in this benchie, just like in games.

I saw a 3dmark06 score the other day of over 18000 :eek: That must be someone with money and passion for OC.
