Ok my current system is as follows:

Core 2 Duo E6600
Intel Flaxton mobo
2 x Trancend 1GB DDR2 800
MSI NX6600
320GB Seagate SATA2 HDD
Aopen 450W PSU
Cooler Master Wave Master Chassis

So with a little luck a bit more bucks has come my way. So I am looking at upgrading the mobo and the GFX card.

I was looking at the ASUS P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe or the Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 as a mobo upgrade and the ASUS EN7900GT for the GFX.

You guys think this will work, or do you have better options?

the mobo's are find, but between you me and other readers i think you should rather save yo moola and then get one of them mighty fine looking 8800gts's, i is hear they like good with good prices and gooder power than that 7900gtx!!!
then you can fu... up all em other computer uses with yo nice grafics card...
ps: if you want to make the most of you E6600 you should overclock it to over 3ghz...

So whats the asking price on the 8800GTS? and when will they be publicly available?

not badly priced and a buy i know spent that one a 7950 x 2 just 2 days ago

i asked him nicely to wait :(

Well your system is definitely not balance well, and strangely enough its the graphics card that is lacking, most people (like me) spend a lot on the graphics and cheap out on the rest.

It would be pretty much perfect to just get a 7900GT or X1900XT (ATI card is probably a better buy, depends on the price.) If you really want a new board then get it, I dont really know Intel boards much.

um............ya i think Ekhaa.... has the answer you need,BUT if you get a 8800gts you are pretty much paying for future proofing... because as dx10 games come out the dx9 cards aint going to be able to run most of the eye candy

Ja, honestly that price f R5300 isn't nearly as bad as I expected. I mean you get current cards that cost more than that, which this will surely out perform.

But wait a few weeks until it is in the current in bulk and I guess the price should drop, then after a few months of it being out prices should definitely come down more.
