Core i7 cooling

Ye, I would be scared lugging around my pc to lans with such a heaver cooler. I'm sure it'll put unnecessary stress on the mobo.

I'm also interested in getting a new cooler, so discuss away :D

So what cases do you guys use? Does it fit in any case?

I have the Thermalright Ultra 120 True Black Rev.a

This thing isnt the most attractive looking cooler(the black edition HELPS! ), but seriously if you more interested in keeping your temps down who the hell cares!? You looking at top of the range air cooling here IMO... expensive, but well worth it!

Though I have never got a negative comment on in... people just stare and say, OMG that thing is huge!!! lol

I have a Gigabyte 3d aurora (original one)... plenty of space. I have also been moving my PC around with this cooler for over a year now, and I dont think its going to damage the mobo in any way, I mean its got a sturdy support plate on the back...

I know its a awesome cooler, but you know its good when people say to me you got good temps on international OC forums...

(obviously im not talking WC low... talking air here)

That H50 actually looks really nice. Kinda makes watercooling accessible for almost everyone, without all the scary custom built loops and rads :p

PLUS it's made by corsair, my favourite manufacturer :D

Hi Guys, can anyone recommend a decent cooler for under R500. I have a i7-920 DO stepping with stock cooling and a HAF932 case and I'm interested in cranking it up to 3.2 - 3.5 GHz

My recommendation would be the Cogage True Spirit.

We're selling them here (R359.00 incl. which will fit your budget nicely):
http://www.wootware.co.za/cogage-true-spirit-1366-copper-base-aluminium-fin-with-4-heatpipes.html

Each unit includes the full bracket mounting system (not pushpins), Thermalright Chill Factor thermal-paste and the 120mm PWM controlled fan.

Hope that you'll excuse the shameless plug :) . We're the South African distributor for Cogage products. PM me if you require any info.

Hey guys,

I am going to place an order for 2 of these coolers. Anyone else want one? Then we can save on the shipping costs.

I can personally vouch for this cooler. Running an i7 920 (stock for now) and seems to perform according to HardOCP's review of it. Great value for money IMO.

Arggg I hate these massive heat sinks!! I'm getting the Corsair H50 all in 1 water cooling for my i7 860!

It will do just fine for my needs! And without the noisy cpu fan...

Just make sure it's compatible with your mobo. I got one when I bought my mobo and it wasn't..... :(

latest shipment of Corsair H50 contains mounting brackets for 1366/ 1156/ 775 and AM3/ AM2. I guess you got some old stock :)
