I just get a good deal because I buy all my computer parts there
you can get 4 GB no name for around 200 R in Germany.
but back 2 topic:
If you want to buy a new pc buy a Phenom II X4 Black Edition. You will get a better bang for your cash. The i7 might be better but that is not worth ~ 5000 Rand more.

Unless it has SPD Ext (XMP), a lot of the new DDR3 memory has XMP timing tables. The SPD (std) is just used to boot.
