I've seen hopelessly infected networks running all of the AV's mentioned in this thread.
Sophos was the best I've ever used, and recently I'm quite liking webroot too although it can be a bit of a pain.

Infections usually get in when Antivirus is not properly configured and/or not maintained properly. Also where computers are not patched up to date.
eset smart security and endpoint antivirusses cost more than just the standard av, for a reason.
endpoint can also be locked down very well if correctly administated through your server(s).
it(eset products) also has the benefit where you can uninstall, and reinstall on a new unit, should the old one be made redundent.
