Corporate Vodacom APN - HELP needed ASAP

Hi Guys,

Our company is busy implementing a corporate APN with Vodacom. The problem however is that the maximum throughput we are achieving is 5kb's a sec which is dismall and slower the old dialup.

We have an interconnect with Vodacom ( through IS ) with a 1024k line so this cannot be the problem. I have tried different Laptops, different SIM's and different HSDPA cards. Also the signal in all areas of testing was HSDPA.

Is there anyone else out there with a Vodacom APN ( corporate ) that achieved good speeds ?

Have you tried Vodacom's Speed test:

also try some tracert's and ping's along the way to see where the problem could be, and how many people are sharing that 1Mbps interconnect line, i.e. how close to max capacity is that line running at when you get ~5kbits/s each?

hi, the problem is i am the only one at the moment on this 1 Mbps link. And this is the max I receive. Traces not revealing much at all. We only receive 5kb MAX for all users it seems !!

Ok, must say though that it sounds like 'per user|mac address' shaping on that interconnect [Digicrap?] line [even though you are currently the only user of that line] - maybe check the router config for that line, and another question is whether that 5kbits/s max is symmetrical for both in&out of that line.

Also, be sure to do the Vodacom speed tests - that will show you the speed you are getting within Vodacom's network.
 
I was on HSDPA signal in both Durban/PE and JHB.
Still only 5kb's. I wish it was something this simple.
