Sentech is the only LEGAL broadband license holder in the country. (Apart from the telkom and cellphone network structures) Therefor MyWireless is the trademark / brand name of their product. and is sold by all their partners ie; iBurst, Nowire etc etc. Sooooo if you are comparing iBurst for instance against Sentech, against NoWire, you are basically comparing the same network and the same product , just sold under different names and at slightly different prices. iBurst and Nowire sell the Sentech product and use the Sentech network and infrastructure! Anyone else not on the cell, Sentech or telkom networks is ILLEGAL in this country at present.

You've got it totally wrong!
MyWireless is using the ratified 3GPP UMTS TDD standard: http://www.umtstdd.org/
This on equipment supplied by IPWireless.
www.ipwireless.com

iBurst is using a proprietary (and now obsolete) technology developed by Arraycomm about 9 years ago: www.arraycomm.com
This using equipment supplied by Kyocera.
http://global.kyocera.com

Both systems are totally incompatible.
Both companies have been granted licenses to operate.

Actually no I haven't got it totally wrong

MyWireless is the trademark of Fastcomm, who supply the technology and work with and as one with Sentech. Sentech have partners who sell the MyWireless products for them (and fastcomm) These partners are.... NoWire, iBurst, Autopage and Vodacom at present. With Mtn joining soon. Some of these companies of course have other products, but NoWire and iBurst do both sell the MyWireless broadband modem!

MyWireless is the trademark of Fastcomm
Not True - It is the trademark of Sentech.
Fastcomm, who supply the technology
They are IPWireless's agent in SA, as well as in many parts of Africa.
(Due to some lack of skill & experience, they truly stuffed up the initial installation of MyWi too)
iBurst do both sell the MyWireless...
What ya smoking?

RoseAfrica ... did you actually READ the artticle you posted from itweb???
NOTHING there mentions any of that crap you posted????

I work for one of the "Partners", so give me credit
Sadly, this does not say much for the level of knowledge that partners have!
You tell us that you sell these solutions...and yet still think that iBurst and MyWireless is on the same network (and the same product) ...
and you expect us to give you credit .... Ha!

lol...sounds like RoseAfrica has been smoking her roses.

dbnnet is 100% right.

iBurst is an 802.20 network run by licensed network provider WBS, the company that maintains the National Lottery network.

MyWireless is a 3G-based network run by licensed network provider Sentech, the company that maintains the TV network.

sooooooooooooooo..... who would like to be gentle and in the simplest way possible educate me to the differences and what is best and what to tell my customers? Seriously and all jokes aside, this is a new field to me and I would humbly like to be as informed as possible..........................

Hmm, no matter which angle I compare my Sentech & Iburst modems at they just dont look the same. :p

Hey RoseAfrica, I suppose its all one big honest mistake.. But the bit of techno-geek slapping comes from telling the people here that their wrong and your right, initially ;-)

Btw.. if you dont know about a product, how did you get the job? hehe

Blone at the roots

red at the tips, resorted to the bottle! Yeah guys how did I get the job?? I am a sales person. In other words it is not so much about the product as about how each indvidual sells, and I am good at selling. But............. having said that, I am one who does like to know about my product, so........... here are your chances to educate me, but boys be gentle please hhhmmm ;)
