IFyou think you got it bad here in SA have a look at the rest of Africa

Our problems seem to have their counterpart in most of the rest of AFRICA

Learning about them can be quite educational.

Tanzanias top politicians linked to Money Laundering Deals

Have a scratch around on that website

Think the Arms Deal was bad ?
Look up BAE and the RADAR

Think power outages are bad
Look up TANESCO / Richmond / Dowans ( Has an SA connection )

Think overfishing is bad
Look up TAFICO and the PRAWN saga ( Has an SA connection )

Think deforestation is bad
Look up the story about the Charcoal sellers

Many more sad stories -- many involving "Whitey" -- Crooked Money knows NO colour

Yeah it's like people who think that politicians should be beacons of moral strength that people should aspire to. If you want to change the world, join a NGO. If you want to make underhanded money, join the government.

OK ??????

Isn't it funny how the saying "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" didn't come from africa ;).
I'm with Copa, it's a human problem, not an ethnic one.

So that makes it ALL OK ??????

Go start your own thread -- "Corruption in Europe"

Better still why not have a look at the International Corruption Index

You may note who are the backers of the Website I listed ........ ( A country that comes near the top of the list )

The difference between Western corruption and African corrupt is that Africans just steal the westerners steal with finesse.

They steal a lot more and a lot more frequently

Here are some hard facts -- Copa & Scotty -- instead of vague unsubstantiated comments & unattributed stupid quotes.

Now you can go and look at the other ones yourselves -- World Bank perhaps

I never once said that corruption was the bees knees, so in every way you can mend and mold your mind around this concept, I did say/elude/accept/condone corruption. So your attack to me is about as valid as a Julius Malema getting a score of 140 in an IQ test.

All I was saying is that your statement is stupid... It's like saying "black people smell bad"... but that's stupid to say, because everyone has the capacity to smell bad if your been working outside the whole day irrespective of where you come from.

In actual fact, you basically saying that corruption in Africa is a serious problem, but since the rest of the world is chilling and developing either they have good corruption or none at all. I'm sorry, but your blatant attack on the African continent, without really coming to terms with the rest of the world is just ludicrous.

Zulgin also said it as best as one could... the Europeans (and other non african countries since OP has an erection over calling africa a corrupt shyte-hole)... Lets look at this nice little article by the one and only Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption_Perceptions_Index

Hmmmm, notice how they use the words Perception ;). Notice how Western Asia also has lots of corruption that people know about?
In any case, one should not just sit in front of their pc striking up arguments over things that you know you won't resolve. That's like telling your son to get you a beer so you can talk to him about the dangers of alcohol abuse... If you want to inform us, well, you could have worded it better ;).

Scotty beamed up ;).

Um, All I see it red all over the world dude?

OMG!!!!! NOO!!!! IT CAN'T BE! Africa is now infecting the whole world with their corruption! No one is safe now!?

Dude, wash the sand out your vagina.

The entire world is corrupt top to bottom. We are all being scammed one way or another each day and we all scam someone one way or another.

Fair trade.

There is corruption everywhere. Not just in Africa.

Africa is just so much worse. Transport companies are having endless hassles at border crossings with officials asking for bribes, and when refused, prevents the trucks from entering based on some problem they found with the truck, the driver, or the paperwork.

In this country like many others the people elected the corrupt into power in the first place

In Western countries these bribes have normally already been paid at a much higher level because the corruption is much more sophisticated.

You mean in the same way I bribe the cashier at Spar with R15 to give me two litres of milk?

The one is stealing the eggs the other is raping the goose.

yup while westerners are also corrupt they do maintain the infrastructure of their country because they know that once you kill the chicken there won't be any eggs left.. Hulle steel slim

This is like discussing which brand of cyanide kills the best.
Just lock the damn criminals up, do whatever it takes, catch em, recover the cash and lock em up.

One of the biggest victories the criminal mind achieved was making entrapment illegal, it's time to get rid of that useless set of laws.
