Hi Guys

I would please like to know if this is right.

Corsair Memory 2x1024 DDR2 800 4-4-4-12. Or thats whats printed on the module.

However in the BIOS it picks up at 5-5-5-18. When I manually try lower it to 4-4-4-12 in the BIOS to PC refused to boot. Attached is a Screenie from CPU-Z. I somehow think everything is right like it should be but doubt it present.

I had the exact problem... Set the timings to 4-4-4-12 2T in the BIOS and manually set the RAM voltage to 2.1V

This didn't work for me, so I'm running at 667MHz 4-4-4-12 1T until a better opportunity presents itself :D

Im going to Rectron tomorrow to see what they say.

Will post results, unless you wanna come along etc, etc?

I see that the SPD timings for the ram on the website is 5-5-5-18. So when booting up those are the timings the ram will have. After manually changing the settings in the bios it should boot at 4-4-4-12. What motherboard are you using?

I tested on 2 boards. The G31 Pearl Creek and my DP965LT. Both same problems. Guys dont buy this memory until we can sort this problem out.

@Peon - according to your screenie, that RAM is running at 400Mhz. Those sticks are supposed to be DDR2 800Mhz. Looks like a volt problem. Also, it was rumoured that there was apparently a dodgy batch of these in the market. Please don't take this as the gospel : I'm not saying that this is the case.

I have the same prolem with the OCZ ram that I bought. The default timings on the mobo is 5-5-5-18 while the OCZ is 4-4-4-15 - the PC doesn't get to the start screen :(

Hmm I have ValueSelect 1gb DDR2 533mhz and that detects at the right speed of 4......

WiseCrack those are precisely the ones in question. Back from Rectron turns out you have to read your motherboards fine print. The motherboard must be able to support DDR2 800mhz at 4-4-4-12. Most boards will only support DDR2 800mhx at 5-5-5-18

****ty reality but thats what it is.....

Thanks for the help peeps

Killadoob, I tried fiddling with it. Besides morally I bought something to run at 800Mhz at 4-4-4-12. If it cant do that then I dont want it.

:P Thats just me

400MHz at DDR2 translates into DDR2-800 :)

yea remember the ram can do it man

its not the ram's fault :)

buy a better mobo

I've tried my RAM on about 7 different motherboards and not one of them can do 4-4-4-12 2T at 2.1V (and it wasn't just 6xxi chipsets either :p)

Not the motherboard's fault, I think...

No seriously Beanie. Next to no motherboards on the sa market can support 800mhz 4-4-4-12. All our current SA supplied boards can do it at 5-5-5-18.

Take the most expensive greatest and latest board available to us in sunny SA and research the timings on the board. You will see 800 mhz but at 5-5-5-18.

Those advertising mofos just know how to give you enough to buy and no info and what you wont want. If that makes any sense

Peace people, im tired,outta here!!!

That's very interesting, first time I've heard about that... I'll bear that in mind :D

Im getting the Asus P5K Deluxe/Wifi

Will my corsair ram run 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1 V?
