COSATU’s mass action campaign may have been a political success after flexing their muscle on Wednesday, but the cost to the economy has been high – running to more than R1-billion.

I do not think so. The strikes never do if they only last for a day. Week/month long strikes could get something done.

R1bn X 20 = R20bn cost for month long strike.

Is this loss counted in terms of actual physical money (like as in hard currency) or is it just "virtual money" they are talking about (like a theoretical loss to the economy)?
