I heard last night that a mate of mine (living in PE) has had a 10Meg  ADSL line installed to his house!! I said IMPOSSIBLE and he reassured me that he had that speed. Apparently you can make a "special" application at Telscum for that line....first I hear of it.

He does work for a company in the UK from here.

Anyone else know or heard of something similar?

He's talking crap. Don't listen to far-out stories - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Its possible if he works for Telkom... Gangstar says he has one, but I dont think anyone has it yet.

Telkom does have some ADSL 2+ exchanges as far as I understand, which can technically reach 24Mbit.

The exact details I am not certain bout, but im 95% sure there is no 10Mbit line to his house.

Edited: You say Port Elizabeth... kk im 99.999% sure now.

If he's referring to the speed of 10Mbps that windows indicates on the connection status then that's the speed that your modem is connected to your computer via USB. Has absolutely nothing to do with your connection to the exchange.
