Got my first bill from telkom R2300 ffs, how the hell can anyone afford to get adsl installed and pay monthly after being billed so high for thie first invoice now i see y u all hate Telkom so much..

thats probably cos of the installation fee, but tht wud make it R2300-R404=R1896 thats still a lot.

Um - methinks there is a modem cost there as well.
So - ADSL line rental * 2 months + ADSL ISP costs * 2 months.

There have been plenty of complains about the surpsise cost of the first ADSL month, but of course, teklom don't even comment on that point.

I am having ADSL installed on 26 of this month. Will i have to pay line rental for the entire month or is it prorata?

They only charge you for the days it has been installed and not for the full month .

I paid only R1000 the first month ... about R250 of which are my usual phone bill.
