Coverage map changes & ICASA

Who did you complain to? Can you set up a template that we can all use please :D

Heh :D 'Tis a simple method, call Complaints line, explain story, they'll feed you an excuse from supervisor, do not accept excuse ( throw in words like ICASA, refunds, ASA, boiled kittens, weapons of mass destruction ), after this supervisor will speak to you, rinse repeat on above, get direct line, phone every hour.

But seriously, just before I left home this morning it dropped to 1mbit, this happened periodically last night, so in all likely hood it's back to it's 2.3mbit + speed.

But you NEVER know with Neotel do you ?

I'm going to still insist on an external antennae. Will keep you guys posted once I receive my *report*.
 
Okay I got a call just after posting this. Nothing conclusive.

The tech that was out Friday got 400-500kbps. Which to them is acceptable.

I argued, you can't expect me to accept a massive downgrade in service and then pull the acceptable speeds because you moved coverage.

Not accepting that. I did tell them about my speed returning to normal, but for how long ?

They're going to get back to me today about coming to fit my gratis antennae. It's the f&^%^ing least they can do after shifting coverage.

Will see how this works out.

I'll also tune them something to do with chief financial risk officer of an Insurance company. That'll mess with their heads. Oh and I like the boiled kittens bit.
 
Is anyone else experiencing coverage (orange) bits that disappears when you zoom out to much? Since the latest update of maps from a few weeks ago, this is happening to me, of is this another Windows feature? (aka a bug) Now i no way of checking where the new orange blobs are without endless scrolling and waiting.
 
Neotel arrived to install my antennae today.

1. It sounded like the guy had NO idea how to even drill a hole.
2. He didn't have enough cable with him. Totally unprepared.
3. Arrived 3 hours late after I made sure someone could be home.
4. Left without installing anything. Promised me someone would return on Saturday. Office would call to reschedule. Have not received a call yet.

To be honest. I added an atenna, I had 1.2-1.5mbps on Prime. They moved tower 264 where I got those speeds and all I get is PN 432 which is slow and overloaded. I find I get better speeds with my normal Neotel antenna then with my Yagi.
 
Yup, I also seem to be a victim of the dreaded 'coverage loss'...

Everything was fine and dandy, except for the disconnect issues a while back, but after that was sorted, my speeds also decreased.
I am now getting less than half the speed of what I originally got and i fear that it will only get worse.
I already pm'd the Neotel rep a few of my issues as he requested in another post, so we'll see...

Another point is that when I signed up, i knew a few people were experiencing coverage loss, and I asked the sales rep to comment.
He promised high and low that this should not happen anymore and that if it perchance did, that I can easily cancel the contract AND device outstanding fee would also be scrapped.
Oh, I should have made him scribble it out on a contract so i can shove it in their faces now!
 
Okay so my last post in this I think.

From excellent coverage ( 3mbit peak ) down to spillage coverage ( 300-400kbps peak ) and then back up, and then back down etc. Neotel came to install a YAGI antenna.

My speeds are about 1mbit now. The inconsistency kills me.

To cut a long story short, A NeoConnect Prime phone they brought and put next to my NeoFlex router got an RSSI of 90+.

The YAGI antenna on a 3m pole got 120+. Connecting the YAGI to my NeoFlex router dropped my speed by 50%.

So no YAGI installed because it just made it worse ? :confused:

I honestly have no idea what is going on anymore. This coverage situation is really p%$#%ing me off.
