CPA and flight tickets

Cool, do you know where we can find more info on this? Weird that no airline has ever mentioned this to me?

Not sure what other info is out there but off hand I can tell you that it covers things like hotel bookings, car rentals, shows etc. It does not cover intangible, unquantifiable items, such as missed meeting opportunities, missed lotto picks, late abortions etc...

Ive sent a last email to 1time informing them about this thread, my NCC filing, a blog post I wrote on them and their business methods, the website I am registering to inform people about their business practices and so on. So they do know about this thread now.

But isn't that the reason they called 1time? you use them once and never again?

Sucks that they treat you this way because, in my opinion, 1time has the hottest stewardess of all of the airlines operating in SA.

So I booked a flight for my wife in late April with 1time to write some exams in PTA. My wife can only write the exams in October (we dont have an exact date yet). We learnt this after my wife purchased the tickets. So I tried to contact 1time to get the tickets cancelled so we can save some money and use that money when my wife flies in October. They will not give any refunds at all.

I find this a little miff... its not like I am cancelling on the day, or on the week. The flights are normally booked full so its not like they wont get the customers to fill the seats. Is the CPA able to help me at all with this or should I just write off R2000?

Hope you get it sorted out, since you arent canceling very close to the departure date so they should give you a refund

don't 1time offer the ability to change the flight at a nominal fee? I seem to have R50 in my mind.

i think in another thread i asked the question - is this not how low-cost carriers operate worldwide? and is in fact the reason they can offer low prices?

if we are trying to change an "industry norm", do we not run the risk of actually shooting ourselves in the foot?

We have no such thing as "low-cost-airlines" in this country if we're going to use international benchmarks...

Utterly disgusting, I hope the NCC takes them to task as their actions are borderline criminal in my opinion!

I certainly wont use 1time after hearing this.

I managed to get the flights changed. I know we have to go to PTA sometime in October, so I changed the flights to then. It cost R320. If we did not guess the day that we need to be in PTA right, then its going to cost us another R320 to change the tickets to a more exact date. This is full on predatory business tactics.

Have not heard anything from the NCC at all :/

Huge backlog, as I understand it. Call the ombudsman like DJ suggested and see if they are able to deal with it - it will probably be a quicker resolution than waiting on the NCC.

Have you spoken to a manager at 1time?

If not try this as I had a problem with Kalula about a month ago and the "first contact" person was clueless and I simply asked to speak to his team leader or manager. He put me through and the matter was resolved within 48-hours.

If not try phoning:
