Hey

I am on a R315 top - up. With the new consumer protection act we are able to cancel contracts right?

Does anyone here know what they will charge for me to cancel it - that would be me giving the phone back as well.

Thanks

You could have without the new CPA.
You will be required to pay the balance of your contract.
As to the giving back.... no, you should be able to keep the phone, as long as the full balance is paid out.

You can only use the CPA to cancel if you signed the contract after 1 April, when the CPA came into effect.
If the contract is from before 1 April, then you will have to cancel the normal way - you will pay everything you would have paid throughout the contract lifetime anyway. You'll only lose out, because you get nothing in return.
