CPU coolers, which one?

My Cogage True Spirit for i7 940 works like a dream. Managed to get 3.6ghz stable with a nice temp ;)

If you can, get the Zalman CNPS10x Flex and add 2 120mm fans in a push-pull setup. The Quiet model doesn't cool so well

Coolermaster V6 or V8. (my V8 cools a 4ghz 950 like a monster...very impressed).

or

Cogage True Spirit - best bang for buck

I wouldn't say the V6, the V6GT is better and is actually better then the V8 even and is cheaper as well :) However, I'd recommend noctua coolers, the D14 to be exact http://www.evetech.co.za/PC-Hardwar...l-sso-bearing-fans-cpu-cooler-nh-d14-153.aspx (It should fit the cm690II, but out of OP's budget). If your budget is low though, definitely take the Hyper 212+. I had it before my V6GT and although it's not as good and gets dirty very easily, it performs nearly as good for about half the price

i dont think it will fit, my v6GT basically just doesnt touch the side panel (-+ 2mm)

Cogage True Spirit without a doubt. It performs almost the same as the Thermaltake Ultra 120 Extreme, but at a fraction of the price.

You planning on maximum overclock? Then what you doing with Value Select RAM? In any case, when it comes to best CPU coolers look for those with Direct-Touch-Heat-Pipes. I recommend you check reviews online before you buy.

I heard the Noctua NH-D14 is the best. Almost all evetech's gaming rigs are using that cooler. R800 though.

I'll relook at my set up and see what to get. I suppose I rather spend that extra R800 on more ram, than on that expensive Asus mobo.
