Hi all,

I just noticed something very strange when I visit this forum - one of my dual core cpu's shoots up to 100% load and stays there whilst the window is open - I closed the window, and it drops back to idle - open it again, and off it goes to 100%. I left it running like this and it stayed there for about 8 minutes before going back to normal idle. The process that was at 100% was "explorer.exe", which is strange in itself as the iexplore.exe was running a normal load.

Checked the usual suspcts and nothing found with McAfee, AVG, NoD, PG2, Spybot, Spydoctor, etc...

It only happens here, and not on other sites, and it only seems to happen early in the morning at about 6am - can anyone advise? or have you had the same thing happen?

Weird... now running as normal...

I also have issues like that - but not only on myadsl.
FF and Opera.

I just wrote it off to "windows being windows" - but maybe there is something odd.

My load is 3% and I'm using Opera. What other processes are you running?

Hi all,

Currently running IE7 (half the problem already :D )
It only happens when I visit the MyADSL forums - weird
Going to put a screendump of my processes here:
http://dptorrent.mine.nu/cpuload/cpuload.jpg

1 core is going nuts and the other is trying to cope with everything else - in the screendump, I only have the myadsl forum IE window open...but explorer.exe goes nuts ?

could be a certain plugin corruption and its trying to load it?

try emptying out all temp internet files, downloaed program files etc etc...

@ Nameite - just emptied the temp files, etc and still the same...
then tried disabling all the plugins, and the culprit seems to be either a McAfee toolbar (was not there before) or a messenger plugin (that was disabled a while back 'cos I don't use it) - will see how it goes...

Cheers!
