Both are fine! But there are G31 boards for R500 that are identical.
Ive seen cheaper G31 mobo but they only have 2 sata connectors which are al little bit on the slim side of things.
Pcint have this in stock for R649

Ive installed an Ultima 90 in my PC which was actually hard as hell(for whatever bloody reason) so Im already mentally prepared to struggle

Personally I'd recommend Sahara's Foxconn G31 (with 4 SATA ports).
You could get Esquire's Jetway G31 for R419 ex VAT. Has 4 SATA ports.

The foxconn is VERY pretty...makes the asus look
but I think the asus will suit my needs. The jetway...well= Thanks a lot for the input, appreciate it

Be careful getting a micro ATX G31 board!
I got the Foxconn G31 which is great and has 4 sata ports but my 4870 blocks of 2 ports so I can only use 2!
Thanks had a look at that beforehand and the sata connectors are situated way off to the side(I was worried about the exact same thing! lol
)And saiyans...I think you get 90 degree bend sata cables...you should look into that

Ok some troubleshooting help needed. I have assembled everything and all seems well. Goes into bios no prob.
I can't however get the winXP2 cd to autorun...? The cdrom is currently running as the slave IDE drive with no master IDE drve detected so I don't know if thats the problem...suggestions..?

If that's the only ide drive present in the system you need to set the jumper config on it to master
I have...there is no jumper config on the mobo itself as far as I can see. Even with the cables connected up in their correct manner it still detects it as the slave drive. Ive tried my old XPsp1 cd and at least it tried to install but once again Im getting this problem again:
So this card is now installed in a completely different system and giving the same F-in problem
