If the heatsink base is large enough to cover both dies, it is the revised version and the cpu should not overheat.
Correct. The shorter one is the revised model. Not sure why I remembered it the other way round...Not so, according to this thread on the dell community site, the shorter version of the heat sink which is not covering the northbridge, is the correct one.
